There are plenty of places to take a Pilates class in Bergen County. Most of them put a dozen people on reformers and run everyone through the same hour. It's fine exercise. It just isn't teaching.
Michele opened MStudio to do the other thing. Every appointment here is private or duet instruction, 55 minutes, with the classical repertoire taught in its proper order. The sequence matters — each exercise sets up the one after it, which is exactly why the method has held up for a century.
What that looks like in practice is unglamorous and effective. You get corrected. You repeat things until they're right. You work on the piece of your body that needs it that day rather than the piece the class plan happened to cover. Progress arrives quietly and then it stays.
Clients here range from eighteen to well into their eighties — people rebuilding after surgery, people who sit at a desk and want their back to stop complaining, and people who have trained their whole lives and want to keep moving well. The studio is small enough that Michele knows all of them by name.
That's the whole idea. Mindful movement, taught properly, one person at a time.
